サンディエゴは West Coast IPA というスタイルの発祥の地だと言われています。
それもあって当店では、サンディエゴを中心とした West Coast IPAと、Hazy IPAを主に取り扱っています。
ということで、今日も、「West Coast IPAとサンディエゴの関係」シリーズです！
今日は、以下のような記載がありましたのでご紹介。
Societeさんですね。
Societe hawks hop-forward IPAs in a town that
goes wild for the style. “Opening a brewery in San Diego and not brewing an IPA
would be crazy,” Smith reasons. Still, the reason San Diego is a great IPA town
is that breweries like Stone, Pizza Port, Ballast Point, Green Flash and Alpine
all flood the market with great product.
（中略）He and Constantiner just try to brew clean, hop-forward recipes they
themselves want to drink, and trust that’s enough to attract customers.
“Societeは、IPAというスタイルに熱狂するこの街で、ホップ全開のIPAを売り込んでいる。
「サンディエゴでブルワリーを開いて、IPAを造らないなんてあり得ない」とSmithは言う。
とはいえ、サンディエゴが素晴らしいIPAの街である理由は、Stone、Pizza
Port、Ballast Point、Green Flash、Alpineといったブルワリーたちが、優れた製品で市場を溢れさせてきたからでもある。

先日書いた、Stoneさんの、「大衆に迎合するのではなく、自分たち自身が本当に好きなビールに全力を注ぎ、」と同様、突き抜けてる感じがリスペクトしかないです、、

Sessionということもあってアルコール度数は控えめ（4.9%）にも関わらず、
しっかりホップの感じがあって驚いた一本です！
2015年と2018年のGreat American Beer Festival 、Session India Pale Ale部門で金賞受賞。
